survey...fireworks

So the guys came and took the wood for the forms down today and it looks great. Soon after the survey guys came and marked out on the forms where the cement walls go so the guys can centre them properly. Didn't take them long.
This weekend is the waterfront festival for the city of belleville. Tonight was the fireworks. We had a busy day so we didn't make it to the parade. Sorry Nan! But we did make it to the fireworks. Mike and Tina stopped by so they came to the fireworks with us. Here are a few pictures of the fun!
This is Mikey, he is Jocelyne's Daddy. They are a lot of fun. Besided the fact we can tease Mike until he can't laugh anymore. I was trying to figure out my new camera to take a few pictures of the fireworks but I don't know really by the looks of them if I ever really did!
This is Tina, Mike's much better half! She too spoils my kids so I guess Joc comes by it honestly. You know what though... is it ever a bad thing to have friends that love your kids to death? I think not.
So we enjoyed our Tim Horton's and the show. Went home put the kids to bed, visited some more, and then we hit the bed too! Tommorrow is a big day! You'll have to wait and see what is going on.

parade & fireworks

Today was the official opening of the Waterfront festival. It was the parade which officially starts it all. After the parade they have the ethnic food tents, lots of vendors selling things, and the fireworks. There are also lots of kids things the rides, children's character shows and that sort of stuff. For the adults they have lots of ethnic dance, music and those sorts of things going on.

So tonight we went again! First the parade. Colleen Tyson's godmother came out for supper because Scott was away and we enjoyed the night with her. Daddy was to tired to join us and spent the night home in peace and quiet!

So on to the parade!

This was the sea cadets from Kingston...

And this is the Belleville Shriners. They do lots for the disabled children in the Quinte area.

Tyson waiting ever so patiently watching for someone or something he likes!

Oh wait a second...who is that lady on the far side of that banner....

"IT"S NANNY!!"

And here are some Canadian soldiers.

I didn't take pictures of the Budweiser girls which was much to Darin's disappointment. I'll just tell you though the one girls left very little to the imagination!

After the parade we walked down to Zwick's island for some ethnic snacks. We also went through the vendor tents. We got some bedazzles for our crocks. Dalton loves them, I love my little Tim Horton's one. We got one for Colleen too!
We enjoyed some Dutch donuts and Dalton had an ice cone. We played a couple of games and then wandered around the park until it was time for the fireworks. They were excellent. We had the best seats. We sat directly under them. We laid on the grass and they were right over our head! What a show we know where to sit next year! I remembered to turn the flash off on my camera so the pictures actually turned out. Sort of! The whole evening was a good time! These fireworks are my favorite! This is when my batteries in my camera went dead! Isn't that always the way!
And then we packed up and came home....
Thanks Colleen for the best night ever! We had tons of fun!

Riverfest

Well this weekend is Victoria day and they always have river fest in Frankford which is a little village not too far from us. Takes about 10 minutes at most to get there. Anyway we generally go on Saturday night because they have great fireworks. Better than almost any I have seen. they lasted about 20 minutes so you know it was a good show.
Darin's mom came down and went for a four wheeler ride and then to the neighbours and off to Frankford too. By the way thanks for weeding and planting the flowers in my flowerbed !!
Dalton likes to go because it has rides too. anyway after we went over to Tracy & Kevin's for supper and a visit for her birthday, ( cake pictures are next post) we headed out to Frankford.

Tyson was watching all the things going on and didn't seem much interested in the rides unless Dalton was on one, but you couldn't get him to go on one.

The tickets were very expensive this year. It was 25.00 for 20 tickets and each ride was 3 tickets. I found that a little steep. Regardless the kids had fun.

A goofy face for Mom... what a kid.. rides and more rides. Even grandma went on a few with him.

Can't see them too well but here were one of the fireworks. They were so pretty.

During the fireworks we ran into one of Dalton's friends from school Thomas. His family is living in a trailer right now because they had a fire in their home. The school has done lots to help them so they are doing OK for now.
Anyway Dalton was glad to see him and the last ride of the night was the Ferris wheel. They had a ton of fun because they could see the entire park from up there.
We went back home and Darin went back over to the neighbours because the party was still going!
Happy Victoria Day!!
