parade & fireworks

Today was the official opening of the Waterfront festival. It was the parade which officially starts it all. After the parade they have the ethnic food tents, lots of vendors selling things, and the fireworks. There are also lots of kids things the rides, children's character shows and that sort of stuff. For the adults they have lots of ethnic dance, music and those sorts of things going on.

So tonight we went again! First the parade. Colleen Tyson's godmother came out for supper because Scott was away and we enjoyed the night with her. Daddy was to tired to join us and spent the night home in peace and quiet!

So on to the parade!

This was the sea cadets from Kingston...

And this is the Belleville Shriners. They do lots for the disabled children in the Quinte area.

Tyson waiting ever so patiently watching for someone or something he likes!

Oh wait a second...who is that lady on the far side of that banner....

"IT"S NANNY!!"

And here are some Canadian soldiers.

I didn't take pictures of the Budweiser girls which was much to Darin's disappointment. I'll just tell you though the one girls left very little to the imagination!

After the parade we walked down to Zwick's island for some ethnic snacks. We also went through the vendor tents. We got some bedazzles for our crocks. Dalton loves them, I love my little Tim Horton's one. We got one for Colleen too!
We enjoyed some Dutch donuts and Dalton had an ice cone. We played a couple of games and then wandered around the park until it was time for the fireworks. They were excellent. We had the best seats. We sat directly under them. We laid on the grass and they were right over our head! What a show we know where to sit next year! I remembered to turn the flash off on my camera so the pictures actually turned out. Sort of! The whole evening was a good time! These fireworks are my favorite! This is when my batteries in my camera went dead! Isn't that always the way!
And then we packed up and came home....
Thanks Colleen for the best night ever! We had tons of fun!

Hot tub fun!!

Today was a busy day. I did laundry and lots of it. There never seems to be an end to it when you have small kids. Regardless, Darin had made plans to build a trailer with Scott this weekend for the guys to do sap with in the spring. So they worked away at it all day and then we went over to Scott and Colleens' for supper.
Dalton loves to go over to their house because they too have a pool but also a hot tub. I have been trying to get in it since they bought it. When they did I was pregnant with Tyson and just always have forgotten my suit. Well, Colleen had a suit I could use so I had no excuse. So I went in. I must say that I did enjoy it very much.
Tyson liked it at first but wasn't too sure after that and spent his time coming in and out and in and out. Dalton of course had a great time and ran back and forth from the pool to the hot tub. I expect he will have a cold this week because the pool wasn't near as warm as the hot tub.
See Tyson hamming it up for the camera! Flexing his muscles.

Poppa Scott snuggling him. Tyson was wanting down so he could run...run...run!

Shhhhh... don't tell Colleen I posted her picture she will kill me she hates her picture taken.
Then Ty got a little snuggling from her. See his cheek he fell earlier in the day and smacked his cheek on the metal leg of the lawn chair. OUCH! That's going to leave a mark.
So after that we headed home and Scott will be back out tomorrow to finish working on the trailer!
Shawn and Leslie ( their daughter and her fiance) are moving to Belleville at the end of the week. They have purchased a house here. So Colleen and Scott are looking forward to that and getting them settled.
So are we because we love them both. And Dalton thinks the world of Shawn. He has been to Iraq twice. He parachutes in to rescue P.O.W'S. I don't think you could have given me his job. So he is Dalton's "hero". And who better than him. Shawn can't wait to have kids of his own.
So I am heading to bed have a great weekend everyone!!

So the flu is gone....

So the flu has managed to slowly dwindle away... thank goodness!! Tyson was well enough to have the tubes done in his ears today. I wish that I had remembered my camera because he was just so darn cute in his little nightgown with pink stripes and his little blue cap.

I felt so bad for him. We had to be at the hospital which is about 30 minutes from our house cross country at 7 am this morning. He wasn't allowed to have anything to eat or drink either. So all he kept saying was "thirsty eh?" because he wanted something and every time we tried to explain he couldn't he'd pitch another fit. Everyone said he was oh so cute until he started to sh reek!

So the whole procedure took about an hour and we were on our way back home at about 9 am. He was not happy afterwards but they let him go figuring that once I got him home, fed him, gave him more to drink and he had a nap all is well. Yeah so they thought.

See he still looked like crap after a nap and all...
I took the kids to Mom at 2:30 pm and I went on to work. He didn't last long snuggling into Nan and by 6:30 pm he was wanting to go back to bed. We'll see how tonight goes. I just got home and he was standing in his bed waiting for me.
On another note though Dalton had a great time at Scott & Colleen's last night. He went because Daddy had to go to work at 6am and I had to leave the house at 6:20am. School doesn't start until 9:15 am. So he went there for a visit.
He got to play some games, see Shawn & Les, read, have a hot tub... I don't know what all. I heard all about the great fun and the pancakes this morning!! All I know is when do I get to go and have so much fun!
Thanks Scott & Colleen for having Dalton for a visit. I know by the tale I got after school today that he had a great time!! We love you!

Tyson was Dedicated Yesterday!!

This is my new favorite picture of Tyson!Except the dirty socks! You would have thought his mother would have put clean socks on him!! (OOOPs that's me) I forgot clean socks at home.
Yesterday we had Tyson dedicated (baptised) at my Parents home. We had a beautiful day. We stepped outside for the actual dedication but quickly came inside to eat.
There was tons of food and we all had a great time visiting together. Tyson was good and even went to Pastor Mark.
As I have mentioned before Scott & Colleen are his godparents. We love them to death and I am very glad that they accepted that role. For both the kids. They adore them.
They got Tyson this little train as a gift. I love it!

The engine has his name on the top back, engraved and the car has two compartments. First one says "first tooth" Second one says "first curl". I think we will have a hard time trying to find one to put in it! NOT!!

Cute eh??

This is the silverware set my parents gave Tyson. it has his initials on it. My parents are great and I love em!
Thanks MOM & DAD for letting us do it at your house since ours is well kinda in transition!

Happy St Patties Day!!

Happy St Patties Day! Today is the Tyson's godmother's birthday! We are going over to see her later in the day. I worked nights so I am going to have a rest first. We got her a nice plant at Walmart yesterday and Scott got her a link charm bracelet so I think that maybe we will go and see about getting her a link or two.

So off to the mall we went. Dalton picked her out a couple really nice ones. We got her six because they were only $2.00 each and for every one you bought the other was $1.00 so it was a very good deal. Dalton picked out... A shamrock, a I heart you, a happy birthday. Tyson with help picked out... an angel for godmother, a heart, and I can't remember the last one. I know that they did a great job at picking them out anyway.

So we visited for a bit and gave her her gifts. I can't post the picks because Colleen said "NO".. spoilsport. And of course the kiddies had treats. Scott fed them ice cream. As always, he gave Tyson a cone this time but he ate it first leaving the ice cream dripping everywhere! We laughed.
Colleen loved all her presents. I figured. They love our boys and I am very glad the they have decided to take the role of godparents for us. The kids love them just as much!
So once they finished we headed home for supper and for me to head back to bed. hopefully Daddy is done finishing every body's cars that he was repairing today.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLLEEN!!!

Heading out to the Grandparents house......

So Wednesday was nothing to special we went to Kingston for a quick drive before I headed into work at 3pm. The boys were home with Daddy still so all is good yet. Dalton was excited because Darin bought a remote controlled helicopter. They both have wanted one for quite a while but Darin has done a lot of work in the garage and saved it up. Good thing too. He flew it 20 seconds and crashed it, and now they are waiting for new parts. Darin didn't think that it would be that hard to fly. He was surprised!

Thursday we again didn't do much but, Scott came out to see us. See how things are going. Darin got out the bike Dalton got for Easter last year it was such a nice day and guess what! He has grown about 3 inches because he can ride it with no problems this year. I was upset because his Dad let him take it for a spin with no helmet. No biggie but when you work where I work you don't risk head injuries! It's an American chopper bike and he loves it!

I had to work evenings again and Dalton was going to Nan's so he was getting excited! Poppa & Nan are taking him to Montana's for one of his free meals. Mom said he was quite the character and when they waited almost 40 mins and they called them he said "finally". Mom laughed. He had a great time and they spoiled him because they ended up taking him to Dairy queen too! He was so happy!

He got to ride his bike at Nan's because Scott ended up taking him in and took his bike too! And Mommy packed his helmet!
Friday was an even busier day for Dalton and he got a good laugh and to spend some time with Poppa. For now though it's late and I'm heading to bed....
