Potty training has begun!!

So today was the beginning of the no diaper days. We'll start off slow but we'll continue to make progress. Dalton wasn't totally trained until he was 2 1/2 so I figure we still have a while he is only 21 months. We started because he is coming into the bathroom trying to take his diaper off and saying "pee, pee" so we kinda though maybe it was time to start.

This picture is kinda funny because he is pointing at the pee that he had done in the potty.

Apparently, looking at it wasn't enough we had to see what it felt like! "YUK". This is when Mommy put the camera down!
Anyone who would have seen Dalton and I in the house this morning would have thought that we slipped a kog or something. After Tyson went pee we were dancing around shaking the Reese's pieces box singing "Tyson went pee, pee on the potty" over and over. He sat there listing to us clapping his hands.

Loonie or proud family I dunno.....Hmmmm...

Darin says "it's just the Bunnett coming out in us"

Baking....Baking......

So this morning I go up with Darin as I do everyday and got him off to work but instead of going back to bed I got busy and made up some banana bread before going to Mom's after Dalton goes to school to bake the rest of the goodies.

This banana bread was one for our house but as you can see by the time supper came it was almost gone and it was the three boys that had devoured it!

So today we made 8 dozen butter tarts, about 15 pies shells and out of that 11 were pies, and 12 banana breads. The church got for their sale, 2 dozen tarts, 6 small pies, and 6 banana bread. Aunt Ruth got a lemon meringue pie, and a banana bread. Mom & I each got a banana bread and 2 1/2 dozen tarts and an apple pie. Jesse my nephew got a small lemon pie. Dad got a small apple pie and and a big lemon pie. I would have posted more pictures but I didn't want to make everyone hungry.
Mom and I always find it funny that nobody likes the baked goods around but they never seem to last very long. The neighbours come and steal the tarts, at mom's there seems to be this mysterious little fairy that eats it all. So I dunno I guess we aren't too bad a cooks.
I guess by our pictures you can tell that we at least like our own cooking. Darin I might mention was a lot skinnier when I met him!

Pool Day fun!!

So today the pool was 68* still a little bit cool but refreshing since it was 30* outside and 40* with the humidity. Everyone couldn't wait to get home in the pool. I started holidays yesterday for a week so I am hoping to get a lot of things accomplished that I have on my list of to - do's. That list always seems to get longer with Tyson now not shorter.
Plans for the week include...
* cleaning the pool

* cleaning the blinds in the house

* cleaning the house

* baking for the church sale

*re stacking the wood pile

* And so many other things that if I list them I will be ashamed when I don't get them done.

So anyway, Darin was throwing Dalton around in the pool. He loves that. With Darin's bad shoulder though about once or twice is all he can handle, since Dalton is quite a "heafty or fluffy" boy. Dalton wanted me to post a picture so Nan could have a "Cow" about it. Hey I just wrote what he said Mom!

This was Tyson on the deck laughing at Dalton and saying no..... and probably thinking not me!! He is funny he doesn't really know about the pool yet. He likes it but not unless Mom is in. he will come to the edge of the deck and put his hands out like he wants to come in and once you start coming to get him, he yells bye bye and runs to the back of the deck where you cannot reach him! What a critter!

See what I mean. I am on the deck and he is calling for Mommy!!

So I cannot wait for the rest of the summer to enjoy the days home with both my kids!! And the pool!

So anyone like the new look or what??

So I haven't had any comments on the new summer look. I was loving the wonderful pool theme...hmmm maybe I just like summer more than everyone else??

Date nite with Nan'

Dalton asked me to use Nan's favorite colour to tell you what happened tonight.

On Monday night's Poppa goes golfing. So Nan decided that she was going to surprise Dalton after karate.
Dalton went home with Terry & Steph for a bit after karate. He didn't know who was getting him from there of what was going to happen afterwards. He was surprised to see nan. Even more surprised when she took the boys out to Montana's for supper. They had a great time and then came home and got all ready for bed before Daddy got home from work.
Dalton said he had a great time with "Just Nan". He misses time with Nanny & Poppa since he doesn't go there for babysitting anymore. He is looking forward to the summer and going to their trailer.
Dalton said he had a great "DATE" with Nan!

Thanks Nanny!!!
We love you!!

Crock fettish!!

I've created a monster!! Nick came over to play yesterday. I wondered where Tyson went because it was too quiet. Next thing I knew, I found him he was in the kitchen playing with Nick's crocks.

He ran around with them on the rest of the morning. The smile ran from ear to ear. It was so funny.

Wrong feet, stumbly and all.

Well the're movin on out.. sad to see them go...

SO... today was the day that the kittens started to go. They were 6 weeks old today and they were ready. They have all been using the litter and eating the kitten chow so we let them go.
Momma kitty was in a snit the rest of the day. The two white ones went to the same home. One was the runt of the litter. Cutie but skinny. They went to our neighbours Mom.

These kittens went to our next door neighbour. They took two as well. So we have two left for now. I think that we are keeping one but we'll see. this is Mandy the kitten's owner. The kids are 4 + 1 that are getting them. Tanner and Tessa are so excited.

We'll miss them but I am sure that we will see them all again. Just hopefully not too soon!!
Good luck in your new homes kitties!

Just like Dad.... Shoppin'

Sunday morning was a quiet one the weather was crappy which always seems to slow everyone down. We didn't go to church because I have to work and the day seems so impossible to get anything done when I don't get home until 12:30pm and have to leave at 2:30 to go to work. So we missed today.
Darin was reading the paper and after a few minutes he had a little helper. just like Daddy. Tyson isn't as snuggly a baby as Dalton was but when he wants he does. On his terms, when he wants to!

After some bacon and eggs we had to go to Canadian Tire. They have the coolest carts for kids now. Tyson loves it. Especially the siren that is all you hear the whole time you shop. Over and over, and over. He is having fun and it makes shopping easier so no matter.

Only problem now is Dalton wants to ride too but he is a little big for that. Dalton said that people are going to think that I am some kinda wacko taking pictures in the store shopping.

You know what I suppose I could be called worse things, not to mention at some point in my life I probably already have!

Saturday fun!!

Saturday was lots of fun for all the kids... Nick came up to play for the better part of the day. They enjoyed Pogo's for lunch, lots of game cube and bike riding and other outdoor fun. All I heard all day was when Darin was coming back, because he had promised them a swim in the pool.

The pool was at least 74* but still a little nippy. Darin didn't end up getting back in time so I ended up going in with the kiddies. Ohhh it was cool! I almost think that he planned it that way because he was in it last night with the boys. Tyson is a little sceptical of the pool yet. Only because it was cold. He loved it last year. Nan & poppa got him another new floaty swimsuit this year, for Easter so he looks all muscular and cool. I'll have to post a pic.

Then while the little kids were swimming the big kids decided to have a water fight. Terry sat there innocently in the middle of it all. I kinda told him he picked the wrong spot! I'm not sure who won but I think that they decided to give it up because they were putting each others cigarettes out!! Bad habit anyway, yuk!!

And that was the Saturday fun at the Martin house. I just failed to mention Mommy's fun you know, laundry, vacuuming, dusting you know all the real fun stuff!!!

Daddy's boy is growing up!!

Dalton was wanting to ride his bike on Saturday morning. He was getting bored of just riding in front of the house and kinda inched a little farther than he was suppose to. But then came back and asked Dad how far he was allowed to go. First off Mommy kinda reminded him he needed on his helmet before he went anywhere.
Then he did and asked again how far he could go. We live on a generally busy road. Not a highway but busy none the less. The only main street in our town.

So Daddy gave him the lines of a quick return or no bike and away he went just as proud as he could be all by himself riding. I laughed Darin said as he watched him..." My baby boy is growing up". Brought a little tear to my eye. Considering this was the man that never wanted any kids. but you couldn't fight them away from him now!!
He did a great job riding and made Mom & Dad proud by following the rules!

GREAT JOB DALTON!

Literacy night.....

Well tonight was Literacy night at Dalton's school. His school has the best reading curriculum of all the schools in Hastings county. I found out tonight that Dalton ready doesn't like to read he just does it for me. He does it quite well too I might add.
Anyway, I was working tonight and I couldn't go with him. So Angela stayed at the house with Tyson and Nanny & Poppa came out to go to Literacy night with Dalton. All while Mom & Dad were at work. Nanny was looking forward to it and so was Dalton. All excited this morning and had to call Nan so she wouldn't forget all about it! Nan would never but anyway....
Apparently they were asking why the kids like to read and Dalton said " I don't like to read I just do it because my Mom thinks I do, don't tell her" or something like that. Kids ya never know what they are going to say. So I laughed.
They made a book, ate cookies, played in the computer room, made a bookmark ( which Dalton made for Nanny) and had some door prizes. Dalton won the last one. $ 10.00 at a book store, as you can imagine from the last comment, the last thing he wants to buy is a book!!

Thanks to everyone for making the kids night...
NANNY, POPPA, and Aunite Angeno.... We love you!

All night Drive in......

Well the party went off without a hitch. Many of them had big heads in the morning. NOT ME!! Ha, Ha. Darin came in sometime around 3am. He wasn't inebriated. But he wasn't sober either.
Anyway we decided that tonight we would take the kids to the drive in. Us too. We got ready and had some supper and headed to Picton. We had a good time. It was darn cold though. Once we went over the Bay Bridge ohhh the temperature sure changed. The wind picked up. One good thing about though there was no mosquitoes. We saw lots of people that we knew it was apparently a good idea.

It was an all niter first one of the year. And you know what it was packed. They had no room for anymore people and actually had to turn people away. We saw Spiderman 3. It was good but wasn't really what I expected. Second movie was Are We Done Yet? It was very cute but it was sort of a remake of the money pit. And Ghost rider was next. I sorta kinda rested through that. Not my kind of movies. The kids both made it through Spiderman and Dalton made it 1/2 was through the second one. neither through the third. The next movies was Premonition. I wanted to see it but I couldn't possibly make it through it. So we headed home instead. I had to work at noon the next day and it was already 4am. Tyson was up at 7:30am ugggg I was glad to get home to bed that night.
Hopefully they play great movies like this all summer!!
next time I will try to remember to bring my camera. The kids had a great time in the park, even though it was chilly!

Not for Kiddies....

Well it was safe to say by the pictures that Tracy loved the cake. I told her that it was something that she always wanted in the box. And since she was now 40 I thought that she should have it. As you can see she thought it was as funny as I did.

She was asking everybody if they wanted to "taste" her boobs. And our friend Renee actually did! She enjoyed the joke as much as I did!

Happy birthday Tracy I am glad you had a great birthday!

New look for summer....

Well as you can see the page and header look a bit different. This is in anticipation of summer! We cannot wait to get in the pool we love our pool. It's still a little cool but maybe in the next couple of days or weeks with this weather we will be in it!!
The header was a creation of Coleen a blogger friend who designed it for me a while ago but I just figured out how to change it. Coleen has been having lots go on in her life right now but I'm sure she will be back bloging in no time and I can Thank her!
Hope you all like it as much as I do!
Thanks Coleen!

Riverfest

Well this weekend is Victoria day and they always have river fest in Frankford which is a little village not too far from us. Takes about 10 minutes at most to get there. Anyway we generally go on Saturday night because they have great fireworks. Better than almost any I have seen. they lasted about 20 minutes so you know it was a good show.
Darin's mom came down and went for a four wheeler ride and then to the neighbours and off to Frankford too. By the way thanks for weeding and planting the flowers in my flowerbed !!
Dalton likes to go because it has rides too. anyway after we went over to Tracy & Kevin's for supper and a visit for her birthday, ( cake pictures are next post) we headed out to Frankford.

Tyson was watching all the things going on and didn't seem much interested in the rides unless Dalton was on one, but you couldn't get him to go on one.

The tickets were very expensive this year. It was 25.00 for 20 tickets and each ride was 3 tickets. I found that a little steep. Regardless the kids had fun.

A goofy face for Mom... what a kid.. rides and more rides. Even grandma went on a few with him.

Can't see them too well but here were one of the fireworks. They were so pretty.

During the fireworks we ran into one of Dalton's friends from school Thomas. His family is living in a trailer right now because they had a fire in their home. The school has done lots to help them so they are doing OK for now.
Anyway Dalton was glad to see him and the last ride of the night was the Ferris wheel. They had a ton of fun because they could see the entire park from up there.
We went back home and Darin went back over to the neighbours because the party was still going!
Happy Victoria Day!!

Cake...Cake...Cake...

My friend and neighbour Tracy is turning 40 today! Happy birthday Trac! Her husband Kevin asked me if I would make her a cake. So I did. I told him to say to her don't ever say I never got you flowers for your birthday because the cake was covered in them. I thought that it turned out ok.....

This is what the sides each looked like they too were covered in flowers. She really liked it. It only took 3 hours to decorate!! It was worth it though for her. She does whatever she can to help you if you need it.

I was being a smart --- and made her a gag cake too. This picture may not be suitable for everyone and may be offensive to some but keep in mind it was a gag cake.
We both have pools in our backyard and Tracy is always saying how she wishes that she could fill out he bathing suit just a bit better. So me being the fun joking person that I am ( like my Dad) I made her a cake and put it in a box for her to open. Kevin though it was hilarious when he came over to get the other one. I figured the way that the kids were trying to stick their fingers in it it might be safer at their house!

So until later today when I give it too her it will be hidden from any eyes to be seen but yours and I know she is too busy to check the web page because she has a house full of company. I hopes she gets a laugh out of it!!
Happy 40th Tracy!

BABY CROCKS!!!

Baby crocks!! I was out today and I found Tyson his own pair of baby Crocks! He walked around all day watching his feet and falling in his face. He liked them. He takes them off after a while and hands it back to you to put back on him!

We thought that he was very fashionable in his new shoes. Daltonthought that he was very cool. Like his big brother of course!

Kitten fun & Ear infection!! STILL!!

Tyson is sitting on the floor playing or tormenting the kittens. They are at the point now where they are trying to climb out of the bin and they need to run and stretch so that they are strong enough to move away in a couple of weeks. We managed to find them all home but one! ONE! Anyone interested let me know. We are keeping the little tan one that is on the bin in the corner. I have liked him from the moment I saw him...just don't tell anyone! Tyson looks so devious in this picture I have to laugh. I was at work when Daddy took these. I just thought they were so darn cute!

The cat that we have left is a male and he is black and white striped. Again very cute. Someone Darin's sister knows might take him I guess. I will have to email her. He is the one that is ready to pounce out of the bin on Tyson in this picture.

Well, I took Tyson to the Dr again today and he still has an ear infection. This is the same one since Easter. So now we are on a super antibiotic zithromiacin that is only for 5 days and he will go see the specialist on June 1st. Where he is experiencing the infection is in a place that even tubes won't help so I don't know what they will do with him.
His mood is so different when he is sick. he is busy still but not as busy, not as curious, not as happy, not as easy to get along with and doesn't sleep all night so I will certainly be happy when it is gone. Tyson is much better to get along with when he is feeling better!
Sleep will be nice...

Mother's Day....

Happy Mother's Day everyone! Whether you're a mother or not I'm sure that you have assisted someone sometime as a mother has... Well, I had a great day. I got home from work this morning and my family asked me to make them breakfast. They forgot until I said happy mother's day as I served each of them a plate!
I guess since they gave me my card, scratch tickets and kit kat bar on Friday they figured that they could forget about it.
Dalton was so upset with himself. He ran upstairs and got his present that he made at school for me that he had hidden under his bed on Friday when he got home from school. Here it is it is a small pot that has sunflowers planted inside. He told me that we would have to get a bigger pot to put them in when they get bigger. I assured him that it would have to be the flower bed not a pot. He has painted it at school with flowers on the outside just for me.
Thank you Miss.Koekman.

The day got better as it progressed, other's hadn't forgotten. We went to Church and they had beautiful carnations for all the kids to give to their Mom's. We got one from the kids and one from the church.
Thank you Trisha & Pastor Mark.

Also at Sunday school Dianne had the kids make a card and plant us a flower. Again they were beautiful and the kids, all the kids did a great job!
Thanks Dianne!

Then after church my good friend Ethel who decided to go with me this morning. Said that she had something for me after church. It was this beautiful pot of flowers for my front step. They are much more beautiful after they opened up. But none the less beautiful now since they were bought for me with love from my friend. I am so lucky to have such special friends in my love that share in everything I do.
Thank you Ethel & Ken!

After that I came home and settled into bed for sleep for the afternoon until I go to work tonight.Except to get up and make them all some supper. So for all you special people who carry that special title of a mother.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

Grandparents head back to Winnipeg.....

Well we were all up early this morning. Granny and Poppa are heading back home to Winnipeg. I would like to say that their visit was a good one but their health wasn't. It was the best weather we have ever had when they have been here....but they both had the flu, and a cold while they were here.
in fact Granny was so sick this week that she didn't get to see a few of her friends or family. they were invited out a couple of nights but Granny was just too sick to go. She couldn't stop coughing and then up would come tons of stuff!

This is my Poppa.

The boys were up and out in the motor home playing before they left. As soon as Dalton got on the bus they followed it right up the street. Poppa hates long goodbyes. Mostly because he doesn't want everyone to see him cry Granny says.

As you can see Granny looks pretty rough. This was right before they left. They got home Friday afternoon. Granny said they stopped a little more often than normal for a couple of unscheduled naps. She has been home for almost two weeks and she still is sick!!
I miss them already!

Outside fun!!

Today we were outside the better part of the day playing. Daddy cut the grass, whenever the boys are outside and Dad does this, they know it is time to ride!!

They both love to ride the John Deer tractor. I hope that they continue to love it when thay are old enough to cut the grass! They drive around the yard with the blades not running for hours if you let them!! Tyson even goes and sits on it when we are outside just to sit on it and pretend he is driving it.

It was after they had bounced around on the trampoline, played in the sprinkler, the sandbox and the tree house! After that they figured it was time for some chow!

I am glad that the nice weather is finally here. The pool is open but a bit shilly yet to swim. 64*. It needs to warm up yet for this gal to be in it!!!

Monster Truck Madness!!!

Dalton went to the monster tuck show tonight! He has been looking forward to going for over a month since I got the tickets. Johnathan and Daddy and Poppa went with him so he was so excited! I got to go last night with one of the individuals from work that I support. We had a great time especially the pit party! He got to wander around all the trucks and get autographs, pictures and actually touch the trucks so he was really excited!

This is the driver of TAMXX! Dalton liked this truck because it was already in bad shape which meant he had crashed before!

This was the driver of Prowler, he liked this one because he has a small one that he plays with all the time!!

And this is called Category 5. If you look the second person from the back is Dalton and Johnathan is sitting beside him at the back.
He managed to watch the whole show, get an autographed poster of everyone and have a great time! There was a little sharing problem that night but nothing a little withdrawal won't cure! That and his mother teaching him how nice it isn't to share. Let's say it's a lesson he won't forget anytime soon!
IF HE KNOWS WHAT IS GOOD FOR HIM!!

FOXBORO FUN FAIR!!!!

Tonight was the foxboro fun fair. Dalton's school has one every year. It's a good time to go and support the school and donate cash for something your schild definately benifits from and has a great time doing it!

Dalton had a great time bowling in his old kindergarden class room!!

Then the ring toss in the other kindergarden class room!

Then it was time for Nick his bestfriend and him to enjoy a little outdoor fun on the air castles. This year they had five of them. The kids always enjoy them the most and they make the most profit for the school. These and the bake sale of course!! They are waiting in line for the space shuttle air castle in this one!

Dalton coming over the other end of it!!

And then the final fun house! This one was the most fun for the boys they got an opportunity to jump on stuff and climb and fall they loved this one!!
Great time had by everyone and lots of fun, food, and friends, always makes for a good time!!
