Saturday nite skate....

We had a little skating party on Saturday evening. It included Friends ( all the surrounding neighbours) , Chili, hot chocolate, homemade bread, marshmallows and a little alcohol for some but lots of fun for everyone! The kids played hockey. And skated around. Tyson was wanting to get out on the ice and skate too but no skates could cause disaster. We walked around for a bit but he just wouldn't give up!

The boys rolling around on the ice......

The bom fire..... and Tyson just warming up after rolling around on the ice. As you can see his eyes are pretty heavy.

It was an early night for me but an early morning for others. In fact some people... ( Darin) didn't even see the morning sun... late afternoon maybe 2pm. After we went to church, went to see the ice sculptures and went to Nan's!

Mom... Don't look!!

Well I have been trying to work diligently on my Mom & Dad's anniversary project. I wanted to make them something special. My sister-in-laws project is coming too. Maybe just maybe I will have it done by next week for her. Oh to find the time. The colours are a little off because I took the pictures in my dining room at night with no flash so I hope you kinda get the idear!

Hopefully my parents like them. The first one is their wedding picture. From 46 years ago. The caption reads... " I love you, not for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you." The colours are peach, pink, grey, and moss green.

Second page is all the grand kiddies. It is burgundy, moss green(again), hunter green, and peach. the words read. Pride and joy. The others are cousins, family, friends. I kinda sort of wanted them to match in a way so my Mom could hang them together..... wherever she can find a place to hang them.

Busy few days.....

Hello... well we have had a few busy days.

Monday - Darin's birthday. We had lots of stuff to get done. Bring wood up. Flood the rink. Two Dr's appointments for him. Get Dalton from karate and go to Scott & Colleen.

Tuesday - we went to take Darin's Mom out for the day. Do her grocery shopping and what not that she needed a little assistance with. And for a good visit. Tyson was driving me nuts though. I worked nights. Had no sleep and Darin was more interested in his new scanner, than helping. Shortly after lunch when Tyson started to get tired too we both started to get cranky and I said it was time to go. I would have loved to stay longer but I was just too tired.

Wednesday- I had a conference all day at work. Darin managed at home all day with the baby. my house was a total disaster when I got home every toy the kids own was out all over the floor. Again Darin was busy with his scanner and on the Internet. Men. Then they wonder what we do all day, but the house never looks like that when they get home.

Well I am posting a page layout that I did on the weekend. I don't "love it" but I do like it. If I had have had a little less help (Tyson) I may have liked it a bit better!

Today is Dalton's last skating trip with his class. So I'm off to that at lunchtime then I have to finish cleaning and finding my house after yesterday..... Wish me luck!

We went Toboggoning!

Sunday morning I got home from work and Dalton was eager to get to church to get the day started. Me tired not so much! The sacrifices I make for my kids! Anyway, I took him to Sunday school and then we did some running around. Then up to Mom's for a quick computer repair, get all our warm clothes! And away we went! Where you say? 401 hill toboggoning!

Tyson wasn't so sure about the going down the hill part but he absolutely loved watching Dalton coming down the hill. And all the other kids! He just was amazed. We had a great time and Dalton hated to leave. The hill has a ramp about half way down and no fear Dalton, had to try it on his racer. He went down the first time a little scared but excited and then once he got to the bottom he said............

"Mom... THAT ROCKED!" and "WHAT A SWEET RIDE"

After that he didn't want to go down just the hill he had to go down the ramp every time! We all had a great time. Darin even had fun watching the kids and listening to Dalton in his excitement.

Scott and Colleen came over Sunday night for supper and we had a good visit! The boys sure love them. They were excited to see them. Dalton even conned them into helping him with his eye spy book that he borrowed from the library.

Darin had to go to the Doctors for his nose and his stomach both on his birthday (that sucks) and so Tyson went to visit Scott & Colleen. They like to take him once in a while just for time with just him! Darin made out well and everything looks good but he has another four weeks off. We had a really nice supper with them and then home for Prison break. ( I love that show).

Then back to work again...... so much to do and so little time to get it all done!

Time for a shave....

Here is a few pics just for a laugh. On Friday Darin was shaving and of course just like always Tyson had to be right there to help. So Daddy let him. he didn't like the taste too much but he did like the way he looked in the mirror! Sometimes it seems so dejaview around here! I have the same picture of Dalton!

The Birthday/ Anniversary supper.....

Well Friday night we all had supper together. Tracey my sister in law was sick and couldn't come. Unfortunately she has been sick all week. Hopefully she gets better soon. We had a meal of Meatloaf, Scalloped potatoes, Macaroni and cheese, and cream corn. Everybody had lots to eat.

I had made a lemon cake that was really good too. Last Sunday was Dad's birthday. This Sunday is Mom & Dad's anniversary and Monday is Darin's birthday. Busy month.

The kids came a little bit early and went for a skate. Edward and Darin took the boys over to the rink. Jesse didn't skate too long, Edward and Dalton spent an hour chasing each other. Good exercise! Then once Dad came we dressed him warm and took him over too. Dad didn't skate but he did get on the 4 wheeler! That was hilarious! they were all lazy on the way back. Edward was the only one that walked. Darin & dad on the 4 wheeler and the two boys on the toboggan behind!

Leah enjoyed having Tyson all to herself for a few minutes. He enjoyed playing in her wheelchair and thought that was great. I took a picture of her sorting out "floam" She mixed the two colours together and then had to try to pick them apart....not fun have you seen floam?? Leah decided to spend the night, Saturday morning did some scrap booking. She did a great job! Her Dad came and got her about 1pm. She got one digital page done and 2 regular pages done. Good job Leah Auntie is very proud of you. Great job!

Mom and Tyson played together at the table after supper. Tyson was playing and trying to pick her nose. We laughed. Then he wanted to eat the floam. YUK!

Shortly after everyone started to leave and about 8pm I headed up for a nap.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MOM & DAD! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIE!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentines Day! Welcome snow!! We woke up this morning to tons of snow. Lots of it. The kids were so happy. Maybe the sugar high too, really not sure. As soon as Dalton got the treats from Nanny yesterday he thought that it was a free for all. That's normal for Dalton he comes by it naturally we both love chocolate!
Well since we had so much snow we just figured that the buses would be cancelled..... not the case. I was standing in the kitchen at 8:45am when I saw his bus go by to start it's run of picking up kids. So I called out to him. He was playing game cube because we figured there was no school! It was the fastest eat, dress, make your lunch and pack your stuff morning that you ever saw. We got her done in time that he was ready for the bus in 20 minutes before it arrived. Needless to say he was no impressed. Not in the slightest. He got over it by the time I went up at lunch to drop off the critter cupcakes that he had made for his friends. That and it was a party, and pizza day. There was only 8 kids absent but he was hoping to be one of them.
Once he got home he was happy to open his valentines and see what he got for treats with them. And then go back to his game cube for more brain frying. I figure he had his homework done and so I couldn't complain.
Tyson isn't as much into chocolate and is still small so we got him the big wheels bike. We got it for a good deal. We bought it at a yard sale last year. It was brand new and we paid $5.00 the lady had purchased 3 at an auction all brand new really cheap and she only wanted one for her grandson. He loves it and didn't hardly get off it all day! As you can tell by his face!
So Happy Valentine's Day!

PERFECT TEST AGAIN!!!

Seems silly i know, the words are so simple. It makes me a proud Momma to see that Dalton is trying so hard! He has only been having spelling tests since The beginning of the new year but has gotten perfect so far on all of them. He is so proud of himself too!
So that's my boy! He is enjoying reading too so i am happy that he is not just a social butterfly. He continues to have difficulties not focusing on getting work done. but once he puts his head to it Miss Koekman said he can do a whole days work in 20 minutes!
Well the good goes with the bad!

Dad turned 66!

My Dad turned 66 on Saturday.

He went to Kingston for the day with my Mom. We were going to have them out for supper on Sunday but they had plans to go to Golden Valley with Don & Bridget. Maybe we will try to do it next weekend.

Regardless, Dalton made Poppa a cake and they come out after Church to have it. Carrot of course. It was good. Dalton did a great job.

Dalton wants them to come next weekend so he can play Monopoly with Nan & Poppa.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!

bath time....fun..

Bath time is a fav around here... both boys just love to play in the tub....with the bubbles the foam whatever they can get their hands on. Bath toys are always a safe bet around here. And water toys are a safe bet.

They have the pool in the summer you can't keep them out of and the bathtub makes up for it in the winter. Dalton also loves to go to Scott & Colleen's hot tub too!!

Here are a few pics from last night. If any of you have ever bathed Tyson you know you need a rubber mat or water shoes on him!!!

As you tell by the tub surround the house is getting pretty well ready to tear down. Everything is starting to rot or fall apart.... Oh this old house....... I hope all goes well in the spring!
OHHHHH what an ending.......lol

Today we skate.......

Well today was one of the many days that Dalton's school went skating. He loves to go with his friends. Not to mention that it gets them out having fun and exercising!! I always go too. Dalton loves that he always normally has someone with him on a field trip. I have always been able to take the day off to go. I have a great boss!! THANK YOU WENDY! I have been off with Darin this week so he was happy.

He loves the new skates that we got him and he is doing so great with them. He also enjoys the fact that he gets to spend time with his friend Keaton. They were in the same class up until this year, now they are in different classes Keaton is in grade 1 and Dalton is in a split 1/2 class. Even though he is in grade 1 too. He misses him. They used to spend a lot of time together. So we got their picture together for him. That "K" is a great little skater we had to tie him down for this one!

I have noticed that he needs a new helmet or at least the face shield removed....and a haircut. They always seem so messy and sweaty when they are done.... YUK!!

Never the less it was a great morning!

New Header........

Coleen made me this really cool blog title but I don't know how to get it up to the header..... Maybe if you could give me some instructions I could.... If anyone has an idea how, email me please.......

I can't get a hold of Coleen for help!!!

We love our pool in the summer so I thought it was really great and the kids did too!! Thanks Coleen.....

Sneaky little fellas......

As I said Darin has been camping out in the living room on the sofa bed. And we have been trying to deter them away from the bed because of Darin's stomach. Well this morning He got up and decided to venture into the shower. I didn't have a chance to make the bed because I was getting Dalton's lunch made. When I came into the living room to see what was so quiet...usually that means trouble. This is what I found..... both of them snuggled into Dad's bed thinking they were funny.

They figured that they would snuggle where it was warm to watch cartoons. Dalton anyway, Tyson was just being his normal devilish self. His sneaky little smirk... what a boy!

Today it was - 35 with the wind chill.... we didn't let Dalton go out for the bus until the last second. The poor kids who have to stand out because they live so far from the road. Our house is very close. We only have about 5 feet until the sidewalk so we can just watch for the bus from the dining room and he can still be out there in time for the bus driver to see him.
BRRRRRRR....

The skating rink......

So the boys got out on the skating rink on Saturday. I hope you can kindof from the pictures get the size if it. I was standing about 10 feet from the end of it. It was very cold. I got them ready and took them over on the 4 wheeler. They were there about 5 minutes and came back. The rink is out in the field with no shelter and the wind was so strong that it was freezing Dalton's ears. Hopefully by later in the week it warms up a little so they can get some use out of it!

Johnathan was here again on the weekend and earned himself a few dollars. Darin had his hernia fixed on Thursday and he couldn't be alone. I had to work nights and we needed someone to help if he needed it or if the boys needed someone. I am off during the weeks to stay with him for the next two. He made out fine and Dalton had great fun with him when he wasn't working. ie... when I was sleeping... or trying to! Lol. He had fun too. He went to church with my Mom and Dalton and enjoyed the change. Things are stressful at his house right now and so it was a good retreat for the weekend.

I took Tyson to the Dr for his needle last week. We found out why he wasn't sleeping very well. (He has been keeping Daddy up when Mommy is at work) He seems to have that sense of when Mommy leaves to go to work then he is up for about 3-4 hours. But wakes up as soon as I leave. The Dr. checked him out prior to the shot and said that he had a really bad ear infection. I wasn't surprised but at the same time he hasn't had any symptoms. That darn cold...just keeps on a lingering. Well he has been taking the antibiotics for a few days now and is feeling much better....and sleeping through the night again. We'll go back at the end of this week for the needle.

So Darin had his operation and like I mentioned he made out OK. He didn't have to stay in the hospital over night this time but he came home in a lot of pain. he has been camping out in the living room on the sofa bed since he can't really venture up the stairs. He is starting to feel better until a day like today when he tries to do too much! I was laughing at him on Saturday.... he said " if you had 52 staples when you had your C - section and it hurt this much, I would have never let you have sex with me again".... oh men poor babies. no wonder that the women have the babies in the relationships.Lol...

Darin's Mom and cousin had major surgery on Thursday too. They all made out OK. Darin's Mom came home today she had a total hysterectomy and his cousin Steve is still in the hospital he had open heart surgery. i think they were just trying to keep the hospitals in business. ha ha.

The kids are just now starting to get that Daddy is very tender and they can't wrestle with him. But they both try to sneak up on the sofa bed with him.....

Just a final little note...... Thank You Nanny & Poppa for all your help over the past few weeks with watching Tyson. We appreciate all you love and support and we love you very much.

Making up for lost time.....

So lots to tell you since the last post.... Darin spent all last week making a skating rink for the kids. It is about 40 feet long and 30 feet wide. Once the kids get out on it it will be lots of fun for them. They will all be able to skate and still have a ton of room to roam. We are hoping to have a skating party out there once the weather warms up a bit. This -35 is really starting to ware on me. I hate the cold. I mean I REALLY HATE THE COLD!! Dalton is happy now that we have snow. Especially after this past weekend.

So Dalton went to his friend Travis's birthday party last Saturday. He had a great time and his Mom invited all the boys in his class. There is 14 all together including Travis. I laughed because when i went to pick the boys up ( I took Nick too) Travis' Mom said "I have a whole new respect for the boys teacher". Dalton had a great time and loved the cake...big surprise.

Dalton got another spelling test back today....9/8 he got the bonus! Woohoo! He loves to bring them home! Tonight though we got another phone call from the teacher. he is having a hard time getting his work done. His concentration is not working with him. He wants to visit with his friends instead of complete his work. But if she sends him to the quiet room he can complete the whole days work in 20 mins. And get it all right. i am confused on whether he is just bored with the work or what. i dunno what to make of it sometimes. he got another lunch at Montana's (Nanny.... you better soon take him he has 3 now to collect).

Some of you already heard about this for those who haven't you won't believe it! My friend Bev won a brand new truck! She was having her truck serviced and they were having a push the button event at the dealership. Bev went in pushed the button and won a brand new truck worth $42 000.00. I wish that I had that luck! It is black and has ever bell and whistle that you could imagine! Congratulations BEVEY!!

On February 1st Darin had his nose surgery. He made out Okay and it is just starting to feel the effects of it now. He had to spend the night at the hospital and he hated that!! They wouldn't feed him because of his blood sugar. Lets also just mention that I met a man, ( Darin shared a room with) and I saw more of him than I ever wanted to see! Those nightie's leave nothing to the imagination!!! Not to mention that he wasn't afraid to air himself out!!

After he was transferred to Belleville from Trenton where they did the surgery, I had to come and collect Dalton from the neighbour. Get the baby from Nanny & Poppa's, get everyone some supper and of course Darin his Timmy's and get back up to the hospital before visiting hours were over. Busy night. Plus Darin had ads in the paper for selling stuff!! Oh what a night! The phone never stopped ringing all weekend. I got up Saturday morning and went to the hospital to collect him. He was calling at 7:30am to see when we were coming to get him!! Saturday evening I had to work but Johnathan came out to help with the boys! Thanks John. I appreciate your help!

So after that things got back to normal ..... well sort of there is always something going on.....

OH MOM... I'm sooooo cute.....

I have been so behind. So tonight I am going to make up for it with several posts so be prepared to stay for a while.....

I took these pictures of Tyson two weeks ago. He can be so devilish one minute and so cute the next LORD HELP ME!!! He was playing about and I put him in the swing and next thing I knew there he was asleep. One of the ladies at church (Heather) says all the time that he is just missing the wings and halo and he could be a little cherub baby. When I see him like this I could agree. I am one lucky Momma!!
