Afternoon visitor....

Today, while the high hoe was loading up our house in dump trucks we noticed that we had a visitor that was quite curious to the goings on's. She came right up to the road to look. Once the kids saw her she became a little skidish but still didn't take off. She has come around for the last few days, I am afraid she is going to get out onto the road.
She came back again tonight when my brother was here. They are a beautiful creature and I hope that she just stays off the road. I like for her to visit and she is great to watch.
Animals... they just don't know much when it comes to vehicles and people.

The house came down.......

For those of you who haven't been here in a while you have a lot of reading to do!
This is what the house looked like on Saturday after we torn off the windows and the doors and the siding... not the sky that was those lovely rain clouds that we worked in all day!
This is after they unloaded their high hoe and started to take it down. It was kinda sad. This was our first home, where we brought the kids home to, the place that we spent a lot of time and money into to re do. A lot of memories went into this little house. Oh well, get over it there is nothing you can do about it now! Crap happens!
I went around to the front of the house to take a few pictures because he wanted to work his way to the back so nothing fell out into the street! He was a good operator because nothing hit even the sidewalk. He could pick tiny pieces of wood up with that claw I couldn't believe it.
It took exactly one hour and 30 minutes to tear it down to just a pile of rubble.
Should I call the insurance company about the hole in the roof????
That living room carpet is never coming clean!
We generated lots of spectators for the event. The busiest Foxboro has been since the house burnt down.
Steph brought Nick up to watch, Tracey and Kevin came over, Angela came by, Tina, Julie and Jocelyn brought Bailey over. And Colleen came out to watch too! We had a great visit with everyone. Not to mention the people that stopped by all day to watch.
We took the front row seats in the back yard.
Yup, my entire life amounted to three dumpsters and three dump truck loads. Inviting thought isn't it??The second last dump truck load got stuck in the mud. So the high hoe had to give him a push out!
The whole day was quite exciting for the kids after it was all done it was a regular day of playing in the sand box , swimming and eating. No biggie.
Tyson just kept saying all day "Now my house is really broken".

And this is what the lot looks like now all empty. Looks kinda funny. On to bigger and better things. Hopefully it won't be too long and things will get started and I can show you progress. I am excited now. On to new memories.

Guess I had better start with shocking the pool from all the rain, and vacuuming out all the dust from today!

If it isn't one thing it's another!

Tornato..where are we???

Today it was a bright beautiful day. After yesterday anything was better. So I did a bit of laundry and Darin wanted to take out his boat. He got it last fall and spent most of the fall trying to adjust the motor to get it to plain out on the water. So he wanted to try it today. It was nice so I thought no problem.
So we headed out about 10am. Laundry on the line. Bright blue sky, not a cloud to be seen. So away we go. We get the boat unloaded and head towards Deseronto. We fish until about 2pm and Darin said, the clouds to the west looked rough so we had better head in.
We did. About Shannonville it started to spit. Then, rain softly, then harder, then the waves, then the sheets of rain. Oh the fun we were having. The kids were trying to make the best of it but believe me I think they were not happy about it. We made it back to the dock, got the kids in the truck soaking wet. Darin and I loaded the boat and got totally soaked again... did I mention about the tree times your body weight in water yesterday?? Here we go again.
So we are in the truck driving home and it starts to hail. hail the size of dice. I look to the north as we go by the Kellogg's plant and I point out the clouds to Darin. They were so dense. And so close to the top of the building, I noticed because they were so close to the ground. I had never see that before.
So we head on home. Still dripping wet. So we get home, take the clothes off the line dripping and change our clothes and have supper. Tina & Mike call us a bit later and say, that a tornado went by their house on Casey side road which is just North of the Kellogg's plant. I'm like.. oh my god!! That is why the clouds were so close to the ground and looked so funny!
Did I mention we just got off the bay? I was totally freaked out! So we went for a drive to see the mess, one guys barn flipped right over and smashed. What a mess.
All I know is I'm sick of being soaked to the bone, and I had better not get sick!

Talk about wet!!

Since Rancor is coming on Monday they gave Darin the go ahead to take whatever he wants out of the house. He wanted to save the doors since we put them in and there is nothing wrong with them and a few of the new windows so we can put them in our wood shed so it won't get so hot in there.
He also wants to fix up the wood shed so that it isn't falling down and it needed to be resided so that meant we needed to get some siding off the old house too since you can't get the same colours anymore.
Did I mention that it poured rain. Picture this...your in a bathtub for about 6 hours. Your entire body is wrinkly. Well did you know that you can hold three times your body weight in wet clothes?? Well we worked away in the sheeting rain all day. We finished about 2 o'clock then guess what... the sun came out and shined the rest of the day! Just my luck. you wait and see if we all don't get sick now! I will not be impressed. We did manage to get everything done, cleaned up and put away. So bring on the high hoe!

permits....always with the permits!

We finally got our permits! Yeah!! Today I got a call to go and pick up the permits at City Hall. This now means that I have a lot on my plate again. First call Dan, then Jamie, then rancor, then Jamie....etc... and make arrangements to get the old house down and payment for people and that stuff! And then DorAnn can do what they have to do.
There has been a slight set back. Jamie forgot to move the house north , and I forgot to remind him so even though we have the permits we must get permission to move it north to meet the land variances. Jamie assures me that it is only a slight set back. I am hoping.
Regardless the house will be torn down on Monday. A lot of wrangling but it will be done. I'm sure the kids will enjoy it. It will be something I hope they enjoy and will never see again.

The last day....

Today was the last day for our kids in Ontario for school. Dalton took cookies for a treat for their party. These cookies are so good. They are called high altitude cookies. They are very similar to chocolate chip brownies, but a cookie. If you just want plain chocolate cookies just omit the cocoa. Here is the recipe.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup cocoa ( if desired)
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, stir together the butter, white sugar and brown sugar until smooth. Mix in eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt ( cocoa if desired); stir into the batter just until blended, then mix in the chocolate chips so they are evenly distributed. Drop cookies by heaping teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets spacing 2 inches apart.
Bake in the preheated oven until the edges begin to turn golden, 12 to 15 minutes. Allow cookies to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheets before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
They are so good! Crunchy on the outside but moist in the middle and not flat and dry.

Dalton also took some special treats for his friends, his class and all the children on the bus. He asked me to do something nice for them. Since they were all so good to him when his house burnt down. So I made them all little suckers in chocolate. It is tedious and takes a lot of time but I know all the kids like them. I made a combination of happy faces, tractors, dump trucks, bulldozers, and heart suckers. We put little tags on all the bags with a little thank you from Dalton. He had one for every child in his class and Ada the bus driver took him along the whole route tonight so he could give one to every child on the bus too. Then she dropped him back home.

Ada is the best bus driver ever. We love he so. She is so good with all the kids who ride her bus. When the house burnt down, she started a little collection bag for Dalton. The kids on the bus raised almost $100.00 for him. We let him keep it for something he wanted. He put it in the bank for now but I'm sure when he finds something special he will not think twice to get it. Not to mention all the toys that they collected for both the kids.

So Thank you to all those special kids who thought of Dalton, to Ada for just being herself and thinking of others, and to each of the kids in his class who supported him with toys etc.

I cannot Thank everyone enough. It continues to overwhelm us what people will do.

So Thank You all.

karate...and..The report card...

Tonight was the last night at Karate for Dalton. He is finished until September again. They had their pizza party tonight. they always have one at the end of the year. It was all you could eat. Dalton ate 4 pieces and then brought another 6 home. So he had pizza for school lunches the rest of the week. Sensai always has draws so the kids take home the extra pizza and pop so it doesn't go to waste.
On another note.... Dalton got his report card. We are so proud of him. He got all A's and B's. He passed into grade 3 for September. That's my boy. He was above provincial standards on almost everything. He did a great job. Nan & Poppa gave him $5.00 for passing and we gave him the game Chicken Little that he has been wanting for wii.
Call me a proud Momma!

Virtual Kitchen

The things that they can do these days with computers is amazing. I know because I have one and I like to fiddle but I'll tell you I am even amazed sometimes. Peter from Kitchen Pro's ( making my cabinets) called to tell me he had my virtual kitchen done and that i needed to to come and see it and make any changes if need be. So when I got there he literally had a virtual kitchen for me to check out. It was the coolest thing.
I made some changes to the cabinets so he is designing another one but I was just surprised by the technology. It was exciting and very neat!

End of year field trip!!

As far as I am concerned this year's end of the year field trip wasn't much of one for the kids. They went to the recycling plant, and to the water park in Trenton. WOO HOO! I am thinking that we could have planned something a little more exciting. But whatever we made the best of it!
The kids had a good time and we all learned something about recycling and how important it is. How important it is to our future. All the kids had to wear safety goggles, safety vests, and hat hats. That was the best part they thought.Dalton looking all cool in his safety gear!
Keaton and Dalton being all cool together.
Best buds!
And the entire class including some of the parents.
Nick, Dalton's other best bud!
Then it was off across town to the water park. The kids all gobbled their lunches down so they could go play. I'll tell you it was too cold for that. it was threatening rain all day. The wind was freezing and the kids didn't know enough to notice. To be seven again. We as parents were all just looking for the closest Tim Horton's.
It was an OK day though the kids had a ball and that's all that matters anyway. hard to believe school is almost complete anyway. Can't wait I'm off a lot on holidays, hopefully a house will be being built, we'll be going away somewhere with the kids and then... back to school!!
I just wish the warmth of summer would get here!

Father's Day....

Father's day. Bad daughter. I forgot to call my Dad. He was at the trailer and I got busy with the kids and the pool and forgot all about him. Sorry Dad. I still love ya! I didn't forget all about you.
As I previously posted Darin was really sick on Father's day self inflicted sick. But the kids had the day with them on Saturday before we went to the BBQ.
Dalton was so happy with everything they made/ bought him this year.
Dalton is killing himself laughing in this picture because we got him a Jeff Gordon air freshener. Darin and Dalton bicker about Dale Earnhardt Jr and Jeff Gordon. So Dalton though it was hilarious. So Darin walloped him in the head with it! Dalton thought it was great. Darin of course made quite a fuss over it even though it wasn't that funny.
The boys also got him a Nascar mug, a neon license plate that wends out messages that you make up, the air freshener and Dalton made him a card and book mark at school.
So Happy Father's Day to all you Dad's including mine. I loves ya!

The Engagement....and the hang over...but not mine

Last night we were invited to a BBQ at friends of ours house. Todd Williams and Stephanie Johnson. Well, there was a bunch of reason's to go. It was Steph's birthday, they were warming their house and what we didn't know was that they were engaged.
Todd took her to Toronto for her birthday and proposed to her. We couldn't be happier for them. We wish them all the happiness in the world. They will make a great couple.
So we had a BBQ which was great a few people had a little too much to drink. IE Steph and Darin. And both of them were quite sick on Father's day. HAHAHA! I cannot be cattier. I think it's hilarious! Serves you right!
Regardless Congratulations Todd & Steph can't wait until next summer!!

They have been great and we are so lucky. So now we wait and see when or if we get a building permit!

Monster Truck Madness!!!

Tonight we took the kids to the monster trucks at the KRock centre in Kingston. Tyson has never been and Dalton has seen them about 6 times I guess. It is something he loves to watch. We went with Mike and Tina and Jocelyn and their nephew. It was a good time.
This is Jocelyn. She loves my kids. Tyson was freaked out at first but got better as the night went on.
Can you tell it is about 945pm?? And he is getting tired??

This was the beginning before they had started the trucks and he was just watching thinking they were all cool!
My kids liked the 4 wheeler racing. Dalton liked the dirt bike jumping that used to do in the middle better than this. Maybe next time I have to say it wasn't the greatest just watching them drive around in circles.
Dalton loved Bigfoot and he won all the challenges for the night.
This was the pit party at the beginning before the show started. We got a few pictures. Dalton liked the transformer car show in the middle of the challenges. It was neat.
Hey Mike..... I am from the turd Galaxy..my little french buddy!

Damn City!

I am so frustrated. The city has asked for our septic info to be submitted with the permit. Guess what, they have it. The health unit got ours 10 years ago when we put the new bed in. But when Thurlow and Belleville amalgamated everything was given to Belleville. they put it in storage and can't find it now or something.
Anyway, I go down today to get the info and the lady pearl says " I don't know where it is, yes we have it but, I don't know where, how to find it , even where to begin to look for it, so good luck, besides it isn't my job". not once but three times she said it to me! So with my patience wearing thin I then went to the registry office, Hastings county, Picton septic info, health unit, back to Denny Bain and finally back to the city so she could say her speech to me again. I asked her if that was her final answer.
So I went home, started calling up city counsellors and tried to get some help. Amazing what things can happen when you do!

With that said... thanks to the university student that was hired to find my info, to Jackie Denyes for her help as we all, Taso Christopher and Ted Merichek. I appreciate all your help.
by the way have you meat Pearl???

I'm not a vicious person but I told Pearl if her house ever burns down to give me a call cause I want to be just as much help to her as she was me!
